On the 1st of May 2015, our RAT (Rapid Assessment Team) left for Kathmandu in the aftermath of the powerful earthquake which hit a country few days earlier.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu the team was advised to go to Gorkha and subsequently to Palungta where they met up with the Indian Army High Altitude Mobile Clinic Unit. Together we flew by helicopter to Laprak and we set up a mobile clinic for several days. Our doctors attended to 100 patients per day on average.
After Laprak the team moved to Simjung where they set up a mobile clinic at the local Health Post. People from all the surrounding villagers came daily to see our doctors. There were also workshop for children and individual psychological assessments which were set up by our psychologist Sit Fong.
